Jennifer Shaklan is a seasoned copywriter/copyeditor whose experience includes writing and proofreading promotional, marketing and online material. While working in the promotions department of Vogue Magazine in New York, Jennifer conceived of, wrote and copyedited everything from advertorials and invitations to marketing tools and sales proposals. After moving to L.A., Jennifer served as Senior Copywriter/Copyeditor for Warner Bros. Online where she wrote site copy, contest pages, newsletters, episode summaries and marketing material. She also oversaw several other writers’ work. Jennifer crafted travel-related material about ports around the world for Princess Cruises, wrote packaging and marketing material for MGA Entertainment toy lines including Lalaloopsy and Lala-Oopsies, and generated site copy, blogs, packaging text and marketing material for Storytime Toys. She currently works at UCLA as a senior copywriter in Strategic Communications.

Another aspect of Jennifer’s career is screenwriting. After earning an MFA from UCLA, Jennifer worked on a variety of half-hour and one-hour TV shows as a writers’ assistant and script coordinator. These shows include CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” Showtime’s “The Big C” and HBO’s “The Newsroom.” Jennifer wrote the series finale of “Men in Trees,” which aired on ABC.

Jennifer is also a skilled artist who created a vibrant line of watercolor greeting cards and postcards, which were sold in local stores and online. She enjoys working with many mediums and is currently developing children’s book ideas.
